Edmonton Area Brazilian Cultural Clubs and Activities

Drum Group "Maracatu Mudança" (Mar-a-ka-tóo Moo-dánce-a) follows the Brazilian tradition of Maracatu. They are looking for opportunities to perform and are also looking for additional members for drummers, singers and dancers. Regular practice sessions held on Friday nights from 8:00 pm until 10:00 pm at the Academy of Capoeira. Please contact Daniela at 780 707-7343.

Marshall Arts group "Academy of Capoeira" (Ka-poe-éh-ra) follows the Brazilian tradition of Capoeira. More information is available on their own web site.

Dance group "Miscigenação" (Missy-jen-a-sówn) means Brazilian Fusion. The group performs to a variety of Brazilian music from latest top 40 to classic popular Brazilian tunes exploring the diversity of dance from all regions of Brazil. The group is led by Claudia Guimarães who can be contacted at 780 777-6464 for dance instruction and performances.
